Polow Da Don has confirmed with AllHipHop.com that he was the victim of an attempted robbery inside of his Atlanta recording studio last night (March 10).

While Polow did not reveal the nature of the robbery, sources stated that an unknown group of unknown masked gunmen entered the recording studio and robbed those present of their money and jewelry.

"They thought they came to rob me, but I have heart and I have God shawty," Polow Da Don told AllHipHop.com in a statement. "These crack head a** ni***s I guess called themselves robbing me, but we robbed them…I wasn't scared I was mad. I was likes "these dumb a** weak ass n****s."

Polow Da Don, who runs the Zone 4 imprint and production company, frequently collaborates with Timbaland and bills himself "The King of the White Girls."

He has created hits for artists like Ludacris, Fergie, The Pussycat Dolls, Snoop Dogg, Rich Boy, Ciara, Young Buck and numerous others.

No one was injured during the attempted robbery, which Polow blamed on morally bankrupt individuals.

"You gone have to shoot me because until then, I dont believe you. I am a man…and nine times out of ten a n***a calling himself a ‘robba‘, a ‘thug’ or a ‘gangsta’ is a cover up for being too weak (weather it be physically, spiritually or mentally) to be a man. It's hard to learn how to be a man…luckily my teacher stuck with me....thanks Dad, I love you! Kids…do you know where your father is right now?"

No Santana No!!!!

Diplomats rapper Juelz Santana was reported arrested by The New York Daily News. According to the story, the rapper was entering his Glenpoint gated community in Teaneck, New Jersey, when a police officer smelled marijuana coming from Santana's Bentley.

Upon the stop, the 25 year-old Harlem-born rapper was found in the possession of several rolled blunts, a sandwich bag of marijuana and a sock filled with approximately 29 hollow-tipped bullets. Although Santana's present-whereabouts are unknown, he was detained, as was his vehicle taken, for being driven on a suspended license.

At the time of this incident, Juelz Santana had been recording his third album, reportedly called Born To Lose, Built To Win (The Reagan Era) for Diplomats/Def Jam Records. Last week, reports surface [click here...] that the Harlem, New York-based Diplomats might be disbanding due to ongoing disagreements with stars Cam'ron and Jim Jones. Amidst the recent talk, Santana, who has found the most consistent success in his two releases, has remained quiet.

DJ Whoo Kid Retirin'

G-Unit’s highly acclaimed DJ Whoo Kid has prepared his retirement from the mixtape business and the world of hip-hop.

The Queens native expressed his intentions and the shady actions behind the music industry, specifically in the realm of hip-hop.

“I can’t take it anymore. Hip-hop is a violent, ruthless business. When you’re popping, they have ways of deading you. I just want to be the one to dead my career,” Whoo Kid said to Baller Status.

He also explained the amount of work needed for the industry and his appearance as factors to his retirement.

“It’s a lot of work. I can’t do it. I’m very tired [and] I’m not trying to be an old DJ wearing a chain with a tight shirt,” Whoo Kid said.

To further illustrate the seriousness of his retirement, Whoo Kid explained his plan to leave the U.S.

“I’m moving to Thailand. I already got everything planned. I got a house in Hawaii and I’m moving to Thailand,” he said.

Although he will be releasing the second volume of G-Unit’s ThisIs50.com series, "The Elephant in the Sand," Whoo Kid has maintained that he does not have plans on furthering his mixtapes.

Despite the withdrawal from mixtape outlet, he will continue business ventures with an emphasis on television, radio, and marketing through his Shadyville Entertainment company.

Until Whoo Kid finally puts the DJ set up for good, he may still be heard on Shade 45’s G-Unit Radio show and seen in his own entertainment magazine, POW!.

plies is back

One of 2007's biggest rookie impressions came in the form of Florida rapper Plies. Certified gold by the RIAA, The Real Testament was weighted by the success of singles "Hypnotized" with Akon and "Shawty" with T-Pain.

Less than a year from the release of Testament, Plies is finishing up The Definition of Real, and the formula seemingly remains the same. With the already spinning "Bust It Baby Part 1" garnering attention, Plies and Atlantic Records revealed today that the sequel to the song, featuring Ne-Yo will be the next single, already getting spins in Florida.

The Atlantic/Slip-N-Slide artist also announced the formation of his label Big Gates Records, named after the label's co-owner, Plies' brother. The duo reportedly signed a new artist, which will be confirmed in the next several weeks. The rapper is currently on the cover of Don Diva magazine.

Notorious Movie?

The roles of Biggie, Tupac, Voletta Wallace and P. Diddy, or Puff Daddy as he was known during the era the film is set in, have finally been cast for the upcoming Notorious movie.



New York rapper Jamal 'Gravy' Woolard has been cast in the lead roll as the Notorious B.I.G. Gravy is famous for being shot in the ass outside of Hot 97 and then still completing his radio interview. Angela Basset will play the role of Biggie's mother, while Derek Luke will play Diddy and Anthony Mackie the late Tupac Shakur.

Mackie's first major film debut was as Papa Doc in Eminem's 8 Mile. It will be interesting to see how they portray Tupac, considering this is a movie about Biggie, and their rocky friendship.

I'd still like to James Avery aka Philip Banks cast in the roll of Suge Knight one day, for old times sake, because Uncle Phil was the shit!

Alicia Keys took back the #1 spot this week, in her off-again, on-again reign, weathering each week's new additions. Ms. Keys was joined by Rock outfits The Mars Volta and Bullet For My Valentine, who held #3 and #4 respectively, after The Juno Soundtrack. Keyshia Cole gained over 17% in sales since last week, bumping Chris Brown and getting a strong surge of Interscope energy. Lupe Fiasco fell from the Top 5 overall urban artists for the first week since his release. G.O.O.D. Music crooner John Legend joins the charts with his live album, closing out the caption with a #27 spot.

As predicted, a new single pushed Soulja Boy back into the mix, as the prodigy pushes for a platinum plaque by spring. The 17-year-old bumped ahead of Lupe in doing so. Birdman also climbed ahead of mainstays Jay-Z and Kanye West despite lacking the initial sales of his super-star peers.
